Crying Soul Finding Rest "In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” - John 16:33 In this work, I tried to capture the tension of the Christian life, the "already, but not yet" here on earth, while we eagerly wait for the appearance of our Lord Jesus Christ. There are many Scriptures that describe this tension. A particularly encouraging one is spoken by the Lord Himself: "In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” - John 16:33 This piece of music is clearly subdivided into two intertwining modes: - In the world you will have tribulation. and - But take heart; I have overcome the world. In the first mode, the soul is crying under the weight of the unrighteousness, vanity, cruelty all around, but also weakness and sin from within that often I feel grieves my Lord... But then the shift is quite sudden into a hopeful, rejoicing, almost dancing mood. The glorious reaffirmation of the Spirit that "I am His" (1. Cor. 3:23) rejuvenates the soul once again! The assurance that I desire nothing more than to be with Him.
