ROSPHOTO is a one-of-a-kind museum institution in the Russian Federation. ROSPHOTO is a unique museum complex which combines a research, methodological and educational center aimed at studying and popularization of photographic heritage and the only photography museum of federal level in the Russian Federation. ROSPHOTO is engaged in the preservation of the photographic heritage and popularization of the Russian photo art. ROSPHOTO’s vast collection includes art pieces created by many world famous photographers and dated from every period of the national and world photo history. The museum also boasts a comprehensive collection of cameras and photography equipment, which is one of the largest in the country. ROSPHOTO was founded in 2002 by the Ministry for Culture of the Russian Federation and its field of activities includes everything related to photography: preservation, restoration, conservation, studying and exhibiting of photography art pieces at the national and international level.
